SUAVE SKI & LONELEZ – MAD AMOR

This is a 5 track EP that is not going to be for the hip-hop heads at all. Suave-Ski teams up with producer Lonelez to give us more of a Latin or Caribbean feel on this short project. I really hope that this is just a one-off because it didn’t really sound too good overall. When I saw the name Suave-Ski, I was expecting to get those CT bars, but just didn’t get it with this one. It sounds more like a project trying to appeal to the masses. I know he’s capable of more. I like Suave-Ski, I just didn’t like this project. The hip-hop heads will want to move right past this one.

SUAVE-SKI – SUAVINHOOD

Connecticut representative Suave-Ski drops a new project. At 8 tracks, he gives us just enough to really see his verbal skill. On the mic, his flow is great and his rhymes are very well-written. The only features you will get are from Motive, City XL, and Reks. Those MCs pair well with Suave-Ski on their respective songs. The beats on this album are pretty decent as well. There are hard tracks with interesting sung samples throughout that provide a good backdrop for Suave-Ski to do his thing. Although this project is rather short in length, it’s definitely a good listen. I think Suave-Ski is definitely doing a great job and the sky is the limit as far as potential.

SUAVE-SKI – SPEAKEAZY

Suave-Ski drops off a new album that is pretty good all around. He has been a previous collaborator with Apathy and has always shined on any features that he was on. He can really spit pretty decently and that comes across on this new project. His flow is very good and is wordplay is strong throughout. I think he is well on his way of becoming a good and established artist. The beats on here were decent too. You get a good mix of some dope samples and boom bap beats. Any true hip hop fans will appreciate. One of the only downsides was the length of the songs. There are a lot of 2 minute songs that have no hooks. I think in order to be in it for the long run, artists need to work on song composition and hooks and themes. That aside, he did a good job with this project.
