This is definitely the culmination of Stalley’s career on this album. He teamed up with super producer Apollo Brown from Detroit and created a very dope album. On the mic, Stalley is smooth and refined as ever. He really has some decent flows on here and some good content. On the boards, Apollo Brown is magical as usual creating those soulful and hard boom bap records like always. The highlight is “Love Me, Love Me Not” featuring Skyzoo. Hip hop heads should definitely recognize the sample as Apollo Brown recreates an awesome song. Both Stalley and Skyzoo kill it on the mic as well. This is a solid album and definitely Stalley’s best work thus far. Very well done Stalley!

Stalley comes through with a reinvigorated new project. He definitely sounds a lot fresher on this one. His bars have definitely gotten better than they were on past projects. You can hear the focused energy he puts into his lines as he cleverly raps about opulence. The beats might be a bit laid back, but I think they are exactly what was needed with this project. He didn’t want to hit people over the heads with some slamming beats and lose the message. He wanted more of a focus on his bars. The highlight of this project is “Smoke Break” with it’s laid back and uplifting beat. Stalley does his thing on this joint. All in all, this was a good look for Stalley. We’re glad he is moving in the right direction with this one.

Stalley drops a quick 6 track project that is pretty much on par for him. This one is a decent listen. On the mic, he is pretty average. You get what you expect and that is not a bad thing. The beats are a bit more laid back but still pretty decent. This one is definitely very middle of the road. There really isn’t anything whack on here, but at the same time, it is no frills. It’s a good listen and quick so it’s worth a spin.

Stalley comes through with another new project. This one is a bit of a sleeper. As far as his bars go, there really isn’t anything too mind-bending here. I wasn’t hitting the rewind button on anything. His flow is somewhat decent. The beats on here are pretty average overall. A few of the tracks stand out a little bit like “Why You Lying” and “Stone Age.” You pretty much get what you expect on this release. I would probably pass this one over as it seems a bit forgettable.

Stalley drops off a mediocre new project. We haven’t heard from him in quite some time. This new one needs a lot of work. Overall, the rhymes aren’t very good. There are a few places where he shines slightly like “My Thoughts” but not very much throughout the project. The beats are pretty sub-standard as well. Occasionally, you hear somewhat of an interesting beat like on “F What You Say” or “Tokyo Proverbs” but for the most part, this project falls pretty flat. I’d probably skip over this one unless you are a big time Stalley fan.

Stalley - Pariah

Stalley comes back a lot stronger on this new project. With a few duds under his belt from previous attempts, I think he corrected what he needed to and came back with a lot stronger of a record for fans. This is a very introspective project that looks deep inside himself and culture. With his rhymes, he beckons people to look inside themselves as well. The production on here is a lot tighter than previous releases and I think that is what causes Stalley to shine on here as well. You can tell he stepped his bars up and his flow is very much improved as well. He flows effortlessly over smooth and soulful tracks. The far and away highlight of this project is the perfectly crafted “A Main.” With it’s perfect drum beat and beautiful sample, it is just a masterpiece. I want to hear Stalley over beats like this all the time. He did a fantastic job here. This is definitely one that you wanna check out.

Stalley - Reflection Of Self-The Head Trip

Stalley is back with another pointless EP. First of all, I would never even put an artist named Pregnant Boy on a track, let alone every song on my EP. But Stalley thought that was a good idea. That is such a trash name and that guy is just trying to create controversy. He’s not even talented. What a waste. Most of the 6 songs on here are trash. There was one that was ok. I wasn’t mad at “The Trip.” That one had a decent hook. But the rest of this project is trash. Throw this joint away with the quickness and go find some real music.

Stalley - Human EP

Stalley drops off a third installment of this series of mixtapes. This one was probably the best of the bunch thus far. It started off a little boring, but not bad. I think it ramped up towards the end. Lyrically Stalley gets a little more introspective on this one. On songs like “Cleanse” and “Cry A Little” he is taking a look at his own life and own circumstances which shows a little more depth than we are used to seeing from the MC. The production is decent on here. You’re not really going to hear anything that is going to stick with you all day or replay in your head, but there really isn’t anything bad to be said either. The beats just simply are what they are. The highlight for me was probably “Open Book.” This beat is pretty slamming with super hard drums and Stalley just spitting at his best. I’d definitely skip the first 2 volumes of this series and go right to this one. As they say, third time’s a charm.

Stalley - Tell The Truth 3

Stalley drops a second installment of straight garbage on us for some reason again. Dude just cannot get it right. The worst part is that I know he has it in him to make quality music, but he insists on trying to sound like everyone else. This is textbook selling out. The rhymes on here are not up to his normal caliber. The beats on here sound too much like everything else out in the industry today. There is literally no redeeming value on this project. Hopefully this is the last of this series and he gets back in the lab and really attempts to try something original.

Stalley - Tell The Truth Shame The Devil 2

Another flaming hot bag of dog shit is dropped off by Stalley here with this project. I think he is really trying to sell out as hard as he can. His lyrics are trash on here. He tries to sound like all these other new mumble rappers. The beats are SUPER trash. Just some more horrible trap beats that sound like all of the others you hear. The only reason I am even giving him the slightest rating is because I believe somewhere deep down within him, he has the ability to make good music. It is just that he is trying to sell out to sound like everyone else. Don’t even waste your time with this garbage.

Stalley - Tell The Truth Shame The Devil

This album was pretty much trash. Stalley is usually good for at least something salvageable but there was barely anything on this joint. The rhymes were not as good as he usually is. He just didn’t really give those descriptive and clever rhymes that he usually does. The beats were the worst part of this joint. They were pretty much trash the whole way through. There were a few tracks where he just freestyles over existing beats which was ok. The worst track is probably “For The Weekend” which is just absolutely vile. He gets auto-tuned up and experiments with this new style rap flow and the end result is a steaming pile of garbage. Way to try to be a sellout on that one Stalley. I would do a hard pass on this one and pray to God that Stalley comes to his senses and gives us something better on the next go round.

Stalley took a huge step backwards on this project. Previously he has been known to finesse some dope lyrics over some pretty good beats but with this project, he doesn’t leave the listener with much to take away. The lyrics are pretty simple, even as he experiments with this whole new flow that current artists do. The beats are even sounding more modern than fans would like. I think he was definitely trying to sell out and appeal to current trends with this release. I would have liked to see him go back to the old Stalley and hit us with some more great MMG music but it simply fell very flat with this project. Better luck next time Stalley.
