Skyzoo drops another dope offering for fans of real rap. Skyzoo has such a knack for writing dope raps, flowing perfectly, and selecting great beats for his songs. He does all three of those things wonderfully on this newest project. Lyrically, he takes us all on another journey through Brooklyn with his well-crafted rhymes. His flow is masterful throughout. There really aren’t too many rappers out there that have perfected their flow in the way that Skyzoo has. The beats on here are dope and sometimes even laid back or jazz-influenced. He really selects beats that almost have a life unto themselves. You almost feel as if you are walking with him throughout Brooklyn when you listen through. On the very last song, he raps about his thoughts of retirement from this rap game and we are sure glad that he hasn’t. He has a lot left to give and has a lot left to teach about how to do this artform. Thank you Skyzoo for always blessing the culture.
Skyzoo drops an expertly crafted project. This quick album has a genius level theme to it. He made it as a tribute to his own father and all the other fathers out there that are doing their job day in and day out. His rhymes are near perfect and he sports his signature perfect flow with all of his bars. The beats on here are very good as well. Skyzoo certainly knows how to select beats. He keeps it full-on Brooklyn with the sound and would make the greats proud. There are even jazzy elements mixed in to give it a more vintage sound. This one is really a heart-felt and genuine project for all to appreciate, especially all of the dads out there. Don’t miss this one.
Skyzoo teams up with the jazz band Dumbo Station for a super quick 6 track EP. This one is a bit different from your normal rap record which you could probably imagine. On the mic, Skyzoo was dope as always. His flow is always impeccable and his bars are really tight. The music on here was a bit off for me. This is another one of those situations where I’m sure it was great music, it just wasn’t for me. There is an audience for it, just not here at the Balcony Life Blog. While it didn’t completely resonate here, overall, it was a decent sounding record. Props for trying something different.
The flow master Skyzoo teams up with the legendary beat producer Pete Rock to give us a fantastically funky journey here with this release. You won’t hear this one on the radio and that is a damn shame. Skyzoo raps his ass off as usual and is an absolute expert with his flow. A lot of MCs should strive to have a cadence like his. You match that with the musical genius of Pete Rock who has been making quality rap beats forever and you have a dope mixture on hand. Pete Rock gives us more of his signature sound that is just jazzy enough and just hip hop enough to sound brilliant. Hip Hop fans will definitely rejoice with this one. Give this one more than a few listens.
This was one heck of a project. Skyzoo just keeps getting better and better with everything he does. This dude might be the king of flows. His flow is impeccable. His voice is just awesome. And his wordplay is just barely outside of top tier. The beats on this album are pretty much all bangers as well. Fantastic drum and bass beats for Skyzoo to ride the beat perfectly to. The first 3 songs are pretty much perfect examples of how well Skyzoo can do when he is spitting rhymes. This is definitely the type of album that you may not understand on the first go round, but if you listen to it a few times, you will catch on. I really can’t say enough good things about his flow on this project. Skyzoo is the definition of steady progress. Cop this one and let it play straight through more than a few times.
Skyzoo is back with another quick EP that is very dope. This isn’t a perfect package but it is well on it’s way there. As far as lyrics, Skyzoo is flowing great on here. The lyrics are dope and his flow rides every beat perfectly. He is basically double-parking his foreign whip right on point with the lyrics. The beats match the lyrics perfectly. There are a lot of great, hard-hitting boom-bap beats for you to ride to. This is classic NY hip hop for your ear. I definitely think Skyzoo is getting better and better as he goes along. This is concrete proof that he is a force to be reckoned with.
This album was pretty good. Apollo Brown has always come through on the beats and this offering is no different. He offers that soulful and slamming boom bap sound that never seems to disappoint. I can’t really be mad at any of the beats on this album. Skyzoo gives a decent performance as far as the rhymes. Is he a classic, top-tier rapper? No. But does he get the job done? Yes, definitely. I almost would have liked to see a better MC on these beats but I think that Skyzoo can at least perform for par on here. The hot tracks to check for would include: “Jordan’s & A Gold Chain” and “Basquiat On The Draw.” If nothing else, this release is very consistent from beginning to end. You will probably not be impressed out of your mind but you definitely won’t be disappointed. Classic NY sound for the culture here!
