THA GOD FAHIM & NICHOLAS CRAVEN – DUMP GAWD (SHOT CLOCK KING) VOL. 3

Tha God Fahim and Nicholas Craven team up once again for a third edition of their Shot Clock King series. On the mic, Fahim is as dope as usual. His flow sticks out the most out of everything vocally. His bars are decent and about on par for what you would expect from him. Nicholas Craven is pretty decent on the boards here as well. The beats are probably not his best work, but they are definitely not his worst either. It’s a good middle of the road project for the both of them. A highlight would be the track “From The Ground Up.” This is the last track and seems to stand out a bit from the rest. All in all, not a bad project from the duo.

NICHOLAS CRAVEN – CRAVEN N 3

Nicholas Craven drops a third installment to this series with this latest album. He gives us his highly talented approach to producing and fills in the vocals with some possibly lesser known MCs from the underground. You will see features from Evidence, Stove God Cooks, Your Old Droog, Boldy James, and more. The highlight on here is probably “Breaking Atoms” featuring Evidence from Dilated Peoples. He does a good job at laying down some bars over top of a dope beat. All in all, the production is pretty solid. I would have liked to have seen a different batch of MCs for the most part, but there were still some shining moments. All in all, this is a decent project.

Fahim and Craven team up again for another banger! This one is really sonically pleasing to the ear. Nicholas Craven is doing his thing on the boards. The beats have amazing vocal samples and piano keys. He backs those up by putting in some hard hitting drums as well. Fahim complements that by doing his thing on the mic. His flow is great and his bars are strong. The best track on here is the first one “Shot Clock Legend.” That beat is just amazing and Fahim sounds fantastic over top of it. These two really have something cooking and I hope we get more material from them.

Tha God Fahim and producer Nicholas Craven cook up a new quick project for fans to peep. On the mic, Fahim is pretty decent spitting his usual style bars. His flow is very good and definitely drops some jewels on listeners. There are only 7 tracks on here and he gets 2 features from Your Old Droog to assist him. Nicholas Craven does a good job with the beats. They are more laid back and dreamy than your usual boom bap beat, but Fahim sounds better on these types of tracks anyway so this works out well. All in all, not a bad project for them on this go round.

RANSOM – CRIME SCENES

Ransom teams up with Nicholas Craven yet again for another dope re-up of greatness. It’s another quick round at only 7 tracks, but it is filled with dope rhymes. Ransom can’t be effed with on the mic and that is made blatantly apparent project after project. There are dope features from Stove God Cooks, Che Noir, Flee Lord, and more. The beats on here are more heat served up by Nicholas Craven. This one is quick and to the point. They had a job to do. They went in and they did it very well.

RANSOM – DELETED SCENES

Ransom and Nicholas Craven have proven to be a force to be reckoned with and the team up to give us some of the Deleted Scenes of their recent work. On the mic, Ransom is as mesmerizing as he always is. He has full command of the language and uses it as he sees fit in an astounding way. Nicholas Craven is as great as usual with his soulful beat samples and shines brightest on the track “Midsommar.” This beat is absolutely top tier and should be on repeat in your playlist. These two artists can’t be stopped and will invade your dreams with the art that they create. We can’t wait to see what they cook up next.

RANSOM – DIRECTOR’S CUT (SCENE THREE)

Ransom comes right back at us with this third installment of the Director’s Cut series. Ransom absolutely crushes the rhymes all throughout this project as he has done on each one. It really is uncanny how good he is. Anyone that is stepping in the way of Ransom’s rhymes is absolutely getting chopped in half effortlessly. Nicholas Craven provides the beats and once again he definitely delivers some heat. These two really have something going and I hope that this combination continues. This project definitely has the backdrop of the old horror flick Candyman and has that vibe all throughout it which makes it more terrifying to the listener. One of the highlights on here is the track “From Dusk Till Dawn” with RJ Payne. Both MCs make a murder scene on the beat. Ransom is definitely out here slaying the competition and I hope that he continues on this tear that he is on.

RANSOM – DIRECTOR’S CUT (SCENE TWO)

Ransom comes back hard with the second installment of the Director’s Cut EPs. As far as bars go, he is a top tier lyricist all day and seems to go even extra hard on the mic on this one. The first track “Inception” is amazing. He just unleashes on the mic with a ferocity that is pretty much unmatched. Rappers should be stirring in their sleep thinking what Ransom can do to them lyrically. Nicholas Craven provides the beats on here and once again, he does a great job. These 2 definitely have some chemistry together and it really makes for some good music. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of (said in a positive way) and rappers really need to get their stuff together if they think they can mess with Ransom.

RANSOM – DIRECTOR’S CUT EP

Ransom teams up with producer Nicholas Craven to bring a 4 track project to our eardrums. As far as the rhymes go, Ransom is expert level and has been that way for a long time. I don’t think there are many MCs out there today who are messing with Ransom lyrically. His bars are expertly-crafted and his wordplay is amazing. He can make you see his words and feel his pain. The beats on here are decent. Nicholas Craven gives us some pretty standard tracks for Ransom to rhyme over. There’s nothing that is really whack at all, it’s just that nothing really stands out too much either. Nevertheless, it’s a dope listen. I wish we would have gotten a full length project from Ransom instead, but we will take anything we can get from the Jersey wordsmith.

NICHOLAS CRAVEN – CRAVEN N 2

The Montreal Quebec native producer drops off a very quick collection of some new freshness for your eardrums. At only 8 tracks, he crams in a lot to digest. The MCs on here definitely do their thing, but the 2 that stick out the most are probably Styles P and Ransom both on their respective tracks. The Styles P track “The Irishman” definitely goes extra hard especially with the vocal samples from a previous Styles P song. The beats on here are pretty dope overall. Craven does a great job at using some awesome vocal samples and some eerie piano keys to lay some great backdrops for the MCs. This one is a quick listen, but definitely worth it.
