Nems come back with a fury on his newest project Congo. The Coney Island Mayor serves up a fresh dish of bangers with this project. On the mic, he is as disrespectful as ever and it is amazing. “Bing Bong” is the hardest song out right now and it introduces Nems perfectly for those that may not know him. His confidence and bravado are at an all-time high and it sounds wonderful. The production on this album is mostly pretty dope. There are a few tracks that sounded slightly out of place, but at the same time, I think Nems was trying to appeal to different crowds. He does his best work over the street bangers. Tracks like “Highly Favorable” where he rhymes over LL Cool J’s “I Shot Ya (remix)” is why we love Nems bars. Nems is definitely out here murdering the competition as disrespectfully as possible and we love it. Keep your foot on their necks Nems and keep putting out that heat. FYL!!
2 of the grimiest MCs link up for an absolute attack on the industry on this one. Ill Bill and Gorilla Nems make a perfect pairing and sound fantastic on this record. Both MCs approach the mic like a pack of silverback gorillas and just beat the mic into submission. They have some great features from Vinnie Paz, Immortal Technique, Lord Goat, and more. The production on this project is slamming. It’s just beat after beat of hitters. Highlights include “Supply & Demand” and “Shootout At The Cyclone.” Both of these beats are thumpers and both rappers just attack the mic. This is definitely some heat rock for your listening pleasure.
Gorilla Nems gives us 3 new songs on this new EP Bamboo. On the mic, Nems is pretty decent. His bars are definitely hard and his flow is pretty decent as well. The beats are average. You’re not really getting anything classic on here, but it’s something to keep the fans satisfied for awhile. I’d rather just throw on the Gorilla Monsoon album and vibe out to that one. That album was a lot harder. This offering is slightly more laid back. Just a quick listen for all the Nems fans out there.
This is a very quick and dope collection of freestyles that accompanies Nem’s Gorilla Monsoon album. He put together a bunch of his Instagram freestyles all in one collection for fans. The rhymes are hard as nails. The beats are all classic joints that real spitters frequently rhyme over. The real hip-hop heads will definitely appreciate the beats selected on here. The only thing that was a small let down was the length of the freestyles. Sure, they are only about 2 minutes or so on average, but when you hear someone slaying the mic, you want to hear more of it. Just wish the project was longer! That aside, this is another banger from Nems. Bar heads will definitely appreciate this one.
Gorilla Nems from Coney Island hits us with a tremendously dope album. The word for this one is hard. He delivers a powerful and forceful project that solidifies himself in the rap game today. His bars are monstrous and he comes for the neck with every bar. He has no regard for your safety or well-being at all so fuck ya life. The production on here is that classic NY boom bap which he sounds great over. There really are a lot of power tracks on here to get your head nodding. The drums are just fantastic the whole way through. There aren’t a whole lot of guest features on here because he doesn’t need them. You do get a fire verse from Conway on ” Where You Know Me From.” A really great track is “Who Got Ya” where Nems slays the classic Biggie track “Who Shot Ya.” This is a great album that deserves your attention. FUCK YA LIFE!!
