1ST GENERATION (KURUPT, MC EIHT, THA CHILL, GANGSTA, KING T, & JAYO FELONY) – RAPTURE

1st Generation is a group made up of a lot of West Coast veteran rappers. It’s really quite uncanny the lineup that they have assembled for this one. With extraordinary MCs like Kurupt, MC Eiht, Jayo Felony, and more, it’s no wonder why this project has the sound that it does. On the mic, it isn’t really about lyrical supremacy, but creating a West Coast gangsta rap sound like they did in the past. All of the MCs do a decent job at providing that vibe for fans to hear. The beats on here complement that same sound as well. With only 6 songs, there really wasn’t a lot of room to showcase what this project could have ultimately been, but it serves as good introduction to an even better idea that needs to come to fruition in a full-length studio album. I’d like to see different combination of artists, different features, and some different producers to give it a classic West Coast sound. Not a bad start with this one.

JAYO FELONY – IN THE TRENCHES PT. 2

Jayo Felony follows up with another new project that is pretty dope. This one is more of the West Coast/ryder type project for fans to bump. His bars are straight West Coast and although they might not be the most complicated rhymes you have ever heard in your life, he definitely has a decent flow that is perfect for the way this album sounds. You get some good features from Prodigy, Kurupt, Drag-On, and more. The production on here is definitely pretty slamming. There are more than a few classic sounding West Coast songs to ride to. The highlight of this project is “Laccs And Chevys” featuring Eastside K-Boy. This one sounds straight out of the vaults and flows perfectly. All in all, Jayo Felony did a good job with this project and fans will definitely rejoice.

JAYO FELONY – HOOD INVASION PT. 2

Jayo Felony is back with his second installment of some of his albums. On this project, he definitely has more of a club vibe than anything else. His bars are more directed to partying and women. It does follow the production on here though. The music definitely has more of a West Coast slant to it as well. There are some tunes on here that you can definitely hear bumping out of the trunk. There aren’t too many features other than those lending a hand on the hooks. All in all, this was a pretty fun album and a light listen. If you aren’t looking for anything too heavy or bar-heavy, this is the album for you.

JAYO FELONY – IN THE TRENCHES

Jayo Felony releases another dope project. This one I think he stepped his lyrics up a bit more. You get more of a barrage of bars on this one. This is another package of some lyrical heat mixed with nice West Coast beats. Again, I don’t think you’ll really find classic material on here, but what he does offer is definitely not whack at all. You definitely catch the West Coast vibe as far as the production side of things. This is just another good album to ride to. Another good job by Jayo Felony.

JAYO FELONY – HOODINVASION

Jayo Felony drops off a new album that is pretty decent overall. He is a West Coast Legend and it is great to see him back in the game again. He definitely offers his signature flow and keeps representing for the West side heavily on this album. His bars are pretty good throughout this album. You aren’t going to get anything mind-blowing, but he definitely does his thing on here. The beats sound like they are straight West Coast thumpers and that is a good thing. While there isn’t any classic material on here, you will definitely catch the Cali vibe. All in all, he is shooting for par with this one and it was a good effort.

JAYO FELONY (JAMES SAVAGE) – JAMES SAVAGE

I actually had lower expectations for this album going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard how good this one turned out. I remember Jayo Felony from back in the Def Jam glory days and definitely around the time of “Whatcha Gonna Do?” I hadn’t really heard to much else from him since then and I thought he just got lost in time. Now he has resurfaced using his government name with a new album. On the mic, he definitely brings us that West Coast flavor. He spits street rhymes with Cali sunshine influence. The beats are more of the same thing. It almost sounds like a new and fresh updated West Coast sound. There are a lot of really great songs on here and this is a very well put-together package. West Coast fans rejoice, because Jayo Felony is back as James Savage.
