Inspectah Deck drops a new mixtape which is chock full of freestyles for all the Wu fans out there. It’s actually pretty nice to see a veteran MC dropping a mixtape like this where they can still show off their skill. On the mic, Inspectah Deck flows like crazy. He is definitely able to ride every beat. He really chooses a lot of great classic beats to rhyme over. There is a nice variety on here as well. You get to hear him on a lot of different styles. There are 2 features from another MC named Hellfire. All in all, this project sounds really good and you get to hear a Wu-Tang member over a lot of your favorite beats. What more could you ask for?

The magnificent group Czarface drops another dope look into their world. For any comic book nerds / rap fans out there, this group is a Godsend. With Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang and Esoteric on the mic, MCs don’t stand a chance. Their bars are sharp and focused on every single track. They know how to lace a beat properly and their flows are unmatched. 7L on the production provides a unique soundscape for them to travel across. He provides boom bap beats with clever sound effects and spoken samples to make you feel like you are in another world. Highlights on this record include “Damien’s Dinner Time” with it’s absolutely slamming beat that sets the tone for the album. “Can It Be” is another dope song that is slightly out of the norm for them. It is more laid back, but still dope as all hell. This project is hard and hip hop fans will rejoice at this one.

The superhero group Czarface teams up with MF Doom on a few tracks to give us a brand new album. This new project is right on brand as they show us more of what Czarface can do with their creativity. On the mic, Esoteric is nothing short of impressive. His flow and rhymes get better and better with time. Inspectah Deck also shines very brightly on here with his Wu-style verses. The production is good. There were a few tracks towards the end that I didn’t love as much as others, but overall it was a pretty good job. You definitely get that nostalgic feeling that they know how to bring with 80s and comic book references. Czarface has pretty much cemented their place in the rap game today and this album just further proves it.

Esoteric and Inspectah Deck have done it again. They have this knack of staying off center just enough to sound different, while also maintaining this almost untouchable level of coolness they exude through their projects as Czarface. The duo does a great job again of providing us with expert level flows and throwback rap topics that make us keep coming back for more. Both of their flows are noticeably better than a lot of their peers. You can tell the way they can change up their flows and styles on the different beats on here. Deck sounds fresh as he ever did. And Esoteric keeps pushing the boundaries of lyrical exercises. The beats on here are great. There are some real gems on here. They sound different and yet funky at the same time. There are some fantastic topics on here as well. Songs like “Burrito” are just fantastic. While it is simply about eating a burrito and then exploding from both ends, it is fantastically worded and the beat and flow are great. Another highlight is “Couch” in which Esoteric tells us about just sitting on the couch being lazy and watching old school shows. Does it get any better? This is a fantastic record and these two should be commended for their efforts.

Czarface - The Odd Czar Against Us

Inspectah Deck drops off a banger of a new album with this latest chamber. It definitely has a classic hip-hop feel mixed with that Wu-Tang sword style. Deck’s bars are sharp as ever and definitely keeps his flow strong. There aren’t too many features on here other than a few Wu affiliates like Cappadonna, Streetlife, and Trife Diesel. The beats on here were pretty strong as well. There is a certain quality of most Wu-Tang albums that is very apparent and that is definitely the case here. You get hard drums and dope samples aplenty. The best track on here is “Fire” with Trife Diesel. He is just razor-sharp as he assists Deck spitting over a dope track. This is a must hear for Wu-Tang fans.

Inspectah Deck - Chamber No. 9

Czarface teams up with their Wu-Tang brethren Ghostface Killah for another dope installment of what they do best. With this album, they take all of their strengths as a collective and just amplify them. The best part of this album is definitely the lyrical side of things. Esoteric sounds like he is at the top of his game on here with his effortless flow. The exact same can be said Inspectah Deck. He is able to just ride the beat flawlessly. It’s almost like both MCs were trying to outdo each other on here which is great competition. They spit their rhymes laced with classic vintage 80s and 90s name drops of nerd nostalgic things just as they have on past projects. You mix Ghostface into this and you get a great outcome. The beats are pretty dope on here as well. It almost reminded me of beats that you would hear on a Run The Jewels project. I think they are paving their own lane sonically and it sounds great. Definitely a fresh, but hard sound on this record. While there is not really a “single” sounding song on here, you do get hard beats and fantastic rhymes which everyone should enjoy.

Czarface & Ghostface Killah - Czarface Meets Ghostface

This was more disappointing than anything else. I expected so much more from these MCs, but this project just simply didn’t deliver like it should have. Past Czarface albums have been dope, but this one didn’t stay up to par. Lyrically I thought Inspectah Deck had probably the best performance throughout. He is usually pretty sharp. Esoteric was decent, but was lacking a little bit. I know he can rhyme a little better than this showcase. MF Doom was just not impressing at all. I think he sort of brought this whole project down. To be fair, he is one of those artists that you either like or don’t like. There really isn’t a middle ground. I think I may be of the latter category there. Production on this album was flat as well. There was nothing really memorable on here at all. I thought it was quite boring at times. There really isn’t a takeaway or highlight song from the album either. This just seemed to be a big letdown all around.

Czarface & MF Doom

The clan is back with a banger this time around. This is probably their best effort since the classic double album Wu-Tang Forever way back in 1997. This album has some great positives and only a few drawbacks. The lyrics on this album are great. The Wu collective bring those sword-swinging rhymes that they have always been known for. The thing about the album that becomes apparent is how much Method Man is featured on here. It’s not a bad thing that he is so heavily showcased but it would have been nice to see more of the other clansman as well. There is really only one verse from GZA and Cappadonna. Ghostface and Raekwon are not on here too heavily. But then you do have great features from Redman, Chris Rivers, Killah Priest, and Sean Price. Regardless of not having the entire Wu on here too heavily, the lyrics are still handled by experts. The beats are great too and they are all handled by Mathematics. I think he gets us back to that old grimy Wu sound that we have all been craving for awhile now. The thirst was not quenched by the last joint, A Better Tomorrow, either. So all in all, this is a great album. This is one you can definitely have on repeat. It plays through to the end and it is of a pretty high quality. Wu fans will definitely not be disappointed.

This project is a fantastic collection of some new and old Inspectah Deck tracks. Overall, the beats are dope. A lot of slamming production on here. There are a few classic Wu tracks at the end that I forgot how dope they were. “House Of Flying Daggers” is off the hook. Deck’s lyrics are usually on point. He does a good job on this album. The flow sounds just as poisonous as ever. He is definitely throwing out some major darts on this one. There are also a plethora of great features on here from some classic MCs. Almost all of the Wu-Tang collective is on here. Notable features include Cormega, AZ, MOP, OC, and Roc Marciano. While it doesn’t sound like a classic Wu album, it does have its moments. This is a pretty good compilation that deserves a spin or two.

Esoteric and Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang Clan are also known as the duo Czarface and they drop off a third album for fans. This is a decent album. Obviously both MCs are awesome lyrically. I wouldn’t say they are top 10 rappers but they can definitely keep the listener interested and are both masters of flow. The production on this project is a little weird but that is what makes it interesting. It keeps you engaged as if you are reading a comic book. That is pretty much how this whole project plays out. I wouldn’t say that this album is necessarily for the casual hip hop fan, but if you are looking for something pretty dope, this is a good place to start if you’re looking for things outside the box. They definitely get at least an E for effort if not more than that for the uniqueness of this project.
