Da Buze Bruvaz return with a quick 6 track project where they slay the competition with their focused bars. Him Lo and Clever 1 expertly trade forceful bars back and forth to show how Lo Lifes and Philly cats represent to the fullest. Their rhyme scheme is really dope and they don’t seem to run out of words that rhyme together. Lord Beatjitzu provides the beats on this go round and he does a pretty decent job overall. He creates a good tempo for the Philly rappers to get their rhymes out over. Even though this is a quick one, Da Buze Bruvaz have a brand and they consistently bring that quality product to the table.
The magnificent Him Lo teams up with producer Giallo Point to form the Cognac Kingz again. This latest release is another slamming journey through their world. Him Lo provides fantastic bars that is the equivalent of hitting a speed bag over and over again. He’s clever, he’s consistent, and he is hip hop to the core. Giallo Point does a great job with the beats providing a sound that is almost reminiscent of Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks. Together, they seem to have cemented their spot in the game and continue to give us quality product over and over again. If you are a hip hop fan, you need this album badly. 2 L’s all the way up!
Philly MC Buddy Leezle teams up with other Philly and Lo-Life veterans Da Buze Bruvaz for this new project. With the bars, all of them are definitely experts and spitting some slick bars. The flows are great and the wordplay is dope. Although it is a rather quick project at only 7 tracks, there aren’t really any low points to this collection. The production on here is straight boom bap and will hit you hard over the head. If you don’t snap your neck while listening to this, then you are doing something wrong. Strong rhymes combined with strong beats will always win. Rejoice in some real hip-hop with this one.
One half of Da Buze Bruvaz, Him Lo, links up with producer Giallo Point to drop a super dope new project. Him Lo on the bars is a force to be reckoned with. I really don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for the bars that he comes up with. He never runs out of phrases or words and you can hear the amount of effort he puts into his pen game. Giallo Point does a great job on the beats providing a dope backdrop for Him Lo to show you why they are so great together. This project doesn’t really have any standout tracks because they all play through very nicely and cohesively. It’s a shame, but I think this album will be slept on. It absolutely shouldn’t be at all. Tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend. Go get this new album and share with everyone. Him Lo is crushing MCs out here.
One half of Da Buze Bruvaz, Him Lo, drops a new solo project and this one is pretty dope. On the mic, Him Lo definitely does his thing and spits some mean bars throughout the project. His two-syllable rhyming style reminds me of greats like Lord Finesse. He also employs a few great features from Clever 1, Roc Marciano, and Kool G Rap. The beats on this project are very slamming. There is definitely that boom bap element that is present thanks to Giallo Point. At times, it does seem like the beats are a bit slower tempo and darker. It would have been good to through one or two higher tempo beats in the mix. All in all, this is a great project and rap fans and Lo-Life fans alike will revel in this project.
Him Lo, one half of Da Buze Bruvaz, and Lo Life extended family member, drops a new project that is very dope. It’s short at only 6 tracks, but he packs it full of clever rhymes and dope beats. On the mic, Him Lo is very underrated. His bars are slick and he never runs out of phrases he can put together. The beats are definitely reminiscent of that 90s boom bap era chock full of good basslines and great samples. Him Lo does a fantastic job in only a small space here with this release so you should definitely check it out.
