Tone Chop and Frost Gamble team up again for more of a melancholy project. You can definitely tell that Tone was going through some things on this one. As listeners, we are not 100% sure what was up, but we wish him the best with his healing journey. His rhymes are still tough, but they definitely “let you in” a little bit more on this project. Frost Gamble does another good job on the beats. He does a great job of matching Tone’s energy which is what a great producer does. It’s a quick 7 track journey but, it’s another brick on the house that they are building together.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble link up again to hit the competition right in the face with some more boom bap rap. Tone Chop keeps delivering “Punch You In The Face Raps” just as one of the song titles suggests. He is seasoned and powerful as he continues his lyrical assault on any whack MCs in the game. Frost Gamble takes a slightly different approach on the boards with some scaled back, but still dope beats for Tone to rock over. These two definitely keep it true to real hip hop and they have a great chemistry. Time after time, they are definitely creating quality music for hip hop purists to revel in.

Frost Gamble delivers a compilation album featuring some really great MCs out there today. You will get exclusive new verses from the likes of Conway, Rah Digga, Planet Asia, Tragedy Khadafi, Sadat X, Tone Chop, and many more. All of the MCs definitely do their thing on the mic with the assist from producer Frost Gamble. He almost gives us a bit of an old school vibe keeping things simple, yet potent, and enough to move the crowd. Frost Gamble is definitely making a name for himself out there and this is a great introduction to him if you are not already familiar. This is definitely one for the hip hop heads to check out.

Tone Chop once again links up with Frost Gamble and the two create another banger. This one is pretty short at only 7 tracks, but they go hard on each one. Even though each song is roughly about 2 or so minutes long, they definitely pack a punch. On the mic, Tone Chop does what he does best. He spits hard rhymes with no apologies. On the boards, Frost Gamble gives us some great drums, piercing horns, and an all around great sound with a bit of an old school twist mixed in. These two together are always able to create magic and they have done it yet again with this new release.

Tone Chop and Frost Gamble link up for another dope album. This time they team up as the legendary Larry Bird and Kevin HcHale from the Boston Celtics in their glory days. The album is pretty much on the same skill level. To start off, Frost Gamble is super dope on the boards. The beats he comes up with are definitely slamming and it seems like he is getting better and better. Whether he is flipping classic beats like on “Legendary Corny” or just giving us dope samples like “Jumping II,” he is definitely smashing it on every beat. Tone Chop complements it perfectly and definitely is tough on the mic. When Frost sets him up, Chop slam dunks it. These 2 definitely work together well and you are always going to be pleased by the outcome.

Tone Chop and Frost Gamble turn right around and give us another 4 tracks to sink our teeth into. This one follows suit just as the previous EP. Tone Chop’s bars are very focused and very ferocious, especially on the first track “Troublesome.” Frost Gamble does another great job on the beats with his highlight being “The Best.” These two are definitely a great team and it is always a pleasure to hear what they can cook up.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble team up again for a quick 5 track EP. Even though it is short, it definitely packs the heat. Tone Chop comes off very skilled and very lyrical on this one. It sounds like he is getting better and sharper especially with bars like the ones on “Raising The Bar.” Frost Gamble handles the production and does another great job on the boards. There are some great drum and vocal samples and he always seems to know the right sound for Tone Chop to flow over. This is a very short but strong project and real hip hop heads will definitely dig it.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble team up once again to do what they do best which is murder all you whack rappers and producers. Although this new project is only a quick 7 track listen, they have one goal in mind and it is to slaughter the competition. It is evidenced from the first song which is the title track. Tone Chop was waiting in the waters like a patient shark ready to strike and tear through the competition with his bars. You can definitely hear the Kool G Rap influence in him. He is hungry and won’t be beaten. Frost Gamble shines on the boards as always and comes up with some fantastic boom bap beats for your ear drums to appreciate. They kill it every time so it is no surprise that they did it once again. Very good job on this one.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble - Kill Or Be Killed

Tone Chop and Frost Gamble join forces yet again for a quick 4 track EP. This was a pretty dope release that serves as a teaser for their upcoming project Kill Or Be Killed. Even though this current EP is only 4 tracks, you still get hard rhymes and dope beats for the hip-hop purists. It was especially dope to hear Tone Chop rhyme over a Kool G Rap classic with “100 Percent (It’s A Demo).” It’s just one of those tracks that sounds like he belonged over top of that beat. This is a quick and strong release and we definitely can’t wait for the next project to arrive.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble - 4 The Love EP

This was a very dope surprise here. You get a group of MCs that is fantastic at spitting bars. You get a super talented producer. You have that producer remix a lot of the best songs from that group of MCs. You end up with this finished product and it is great. It is without question that the Horse Shoe Gang can spit relentless lyrics that are of the dopest caliber. Their track record speaks for itself. Mixtape after mixtape, they are always spitting fire. As with every project out there, there’s usually a few tracks that stand out from the rest either because of their intense and focused lyricism or because of the finely-crafted production of the beat. Sometimes you get both on a song. Frost Gamble took the best work from these artists and created his own signature backdrop to it, which makes for a fantastic listening experience. Every beat on this album is dope, but one beat truly stands out amongst the rest. The first and title track “Pass The Ammunition” has a beat that is on the genius level. This is something that only the greatest minds could conjure and Frost Gamble did it. What a perfect song and what a truly dope album.

Horse Shoe Gang & Frost Gamble - Pass The Ammunition

The dynamic duo team up again to bring another super dope album straight to our eardrums. Consistency and delivery is what these two bring every single time without fail. Tone Chop raps like he is Thor’s hammer dropping hard bars right on the tops of whack MCs heads. His direct and gritty rhymes are like a punch right through the chest. With Frost Gamble on the beats, he is always serving up dope samples and hard drums and kicks. Basically these two can never miss a shot. It’s great to have huge wins but consistency is what wins over time and these two have found that recipe. The highlights for me include the first track “Battle’s Just Begun.” This song just sets the tone for the album. “The Epitome” and “Respect Your Jaw” are also very strong tracks. To be honest, most of the MCs and producers out there today aren’t messing with Tone Chop and Frost Gamble. Cop this one with the quickness.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble - One

At only 5 tracks, this project was almost too quick. Tragedy has dope rhymes and has for a very long time, probably for a lot longer than people realize. He spits some dope Queensbridge heat on this project. The underrated super producer Frost Gamble definitely provides some heat for the background with the beats on this project. My biggest criticism was that this EP should have been a full length album. Maybe we will get that in the future, but for now this will have to do. “That’s Street” and “Organic Thoughts” are probably the best beats on here. This was a dope and quick release. Check it out and you will not be disappointed.

Tone Chop is back with another fantastic project called “Respect Is Earned Not Given.” He has teamed up with the genius producer Frost Gamble to create a slamming piece of work here. Lyrically, Tone is definitely on point and bringing those hard and tough street bars as he does so well. The best way to describe it would be if you imagine an enormous grizzly bear coming to maul any whack rappers in the way. That is what Tone does effortlessly on this project. Frost Gamble does another great job providing the backdrop to this album. There are some awesome samples over some great bass lines and drum tracks. Another great part of this album that really stands out is how well the songs are woven together. This is a very cohesive project that sounds like all tracks go in order and are meant to be together. There are some great song concepts and stories on here. “Bing Stories” definitely stands out as a great story. “Walk The Walk” is a fantastic song that features the OG Kool G Rap. I’d have to say my favorite track is probably “In The Streets” featuring DNA. The beat is slamming and Tone and DNA definitely trade clever rhymes. If you are a hardcore hip-hop head, this is a must have project.

Tone Chop & Frost Gamble

Another good release from Urbanelite Promotions! Being previously aware of Frost Gamble through his album with Tone Chop, I was excited to hear this release. Overall, this was a strong record and there were a few things that stuck out to me with this project. Zothejerk is a Detroit native that definitely has that Detroit sound in his lyrics. The one thing I didn’t really like was probably his voice, but I think that is more just my preference and may not be the general popular consensus. That aside, he’s got some decent lyrics and he paints a great portrait here with Black Beach. The standout part of this album has to be the production. Frost Gamble is a genius. The sounds that he created are fantastic on this record. From beginning to end, he delivers an onslaught of great beats. The highlights for me included “Drunk Roses” which has a mystical, soulful beat and “Risk Vs. Reward” featuring Sadat X. Both MCs go hard over a banging beat. The album even closes with a purposeful joint called “Keep Me Safe” which is pretty much a great finish to this project. Another great feature of this album is the cohesiveness of it. It tells a story and it sounds like every song belongs together. That is something you don’t find too often in today’s hip-hop world. This was a great release and something you definitely don’t want to sleep on.

Zothejerk - Black Beach

This was a very dope release from a rapper that I was not previously familiar with. Tone Chop has created a slamming EP with production by Frost Gamble. This quick project is solid and gives the listener everything they need. The project starts out with a quick tribute to all the great rappers of the past called “Dedication.” From there, it goes on with track after track of hard, boom-bap production and clever samples. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with this release. This is the type of rap that we need more of out there. The lyrics might not be the most complex I have ever heard but they are real enough to get the points across and clever enough to go toe-to-toe with most rappers. The beats are slamming and something you can bump while you are cruising to your destination. I’d say this is a must have for independent rap fans out there. This is how you make  a quality project.
