Nyce Da Future teams up with Eto on the beats and both of them give us a banger of an album. This one is definitely New York to the core. Eto provides some slamming production. He gives us that sound that we are all craving: that hardcore, grimy sound. Nyce Da Future definitely puts in some work on the mic with his bars as well. He may not be top tier, but he is certainly able to handle his own and keep it flowing. There aren’t a whole lot of features on here, but you do get some verses from Flee Lord, Big Twins, Reek Da Villain, and Reno. Some highlights from this album include “Good Morning” with its slamming beat and clever sample and “Forever Mobbin” with its very well-planned flow. All in all, this is a strong album and definite potential for the future. Keep your eye on Nyce Da Future.

Black Geez and Eto link up once again for a final chapter to their album trilogy. On the mic Black Geez is pretty simple and has a lot of one syllable rhymes. The rewind button will most likely not be utilized at all with the bars. On the production side of things, Eto does a pretty decent job. Three times in a row and I feel like they accomplished the same thing with each album. It’s very middle of the road and not much stands out on these. This is another one that will most likely be passed up.

Eto and Flee Lord team up again for another installment of Rocamerikkka. This one is dope, but I don’t think quite measures up to the first one. Eto sounds great on the mic and sounds as sneaky and mischevious as ever. Flee Lord sounds good as well. They both deliver hard bars. The production on here is good, but I don’t think it sounds quite as good as the first one did. I found some of the songs kind of blending together on this one. There wasn’t a whole lot that really stood out. It’s not a bad album, it’s just that it is a step under the previous. This is still a dope album for the both of them though.

Eto releases a super quick, but highly focused new project. This is basically his take on the classic gangster flick Carlito’s Way. Each track is super short, but is a retelling of scenes from the movie from his perspective. This is a really clever way to celebrate this movie. Eto is a great lyricist to do this as well as his bars are sharp and poignant. You can almost relive each scene as you hear each track. It really brought back a lot of great moments from that movie. The beats are pretty decent on here as well. All in all, this was a clever idea and a great job at a project.

This second chapter of Flour City Street Bible pretty much follows the same format as the first one. Black Geez takes care of the rhymes while Eto provides us with the production side of things. There is a stark contrast between the two as well. As far as the rhymes go, Black Geez doesn’t do a whole lot on the mic. There really isn’t anything at all that is rewind-worthy with these bars. Now on the production side of things, Eto does a fantastic job at creating some really dope beats. It’s crazy how he is talented enough to do well at both rhyming and production. So this project is pretty much the same as the first go round. I’d say that this pairing doesn’t really work as well as it should.

This is how you make an album!! Eto gives us a studio album that is amazing. His bars are so fantastic. His voice is like a lurking monster down a dark alley waiting for an unsuspecting passerby. There is a unique talent that he has when putting his bars together and you can hear it when he selects the final lines in the bars to rhyme together. The phrases he picks are on purpose. The production on here is definitely on a higher caliber. You can tell there was time that was put into this project to make it sound great. Tracks like “Nothin Like You” are just so soulful and purposeful. Joints like “The Pot,” “Rusty Stainless,” and “Metal Lords” are straight bangers. “Pissin In Bottles” is a great “drunk by yourself” track in which Eto captures a pretty accurate description of the feeling. All in all, Eto did a fantastic job on this project and he should be very proud of himself. This guy knows what he is doing and it comes off almost flawlessly.

Eto - The Beauty Of It

The MC Black Geez teams up with fellow MC Eto (this time providing the production) to give us a brand new LP. This one was pretty average overall. Black Geez kicks some rhymes to us; nothing was really earth-shattering. He’s a pretty middle of the road MC based on his performance on this album. Eto does a decent job on the boards. I wouldn’t say that these are necessarily the hottest beats out there, but they are sufficient to get the job done here. All in all, this is a very basic album. They did an ok job here.

Eto has been on a tear this year cementing his name into the rap underground scene and breaking through to the mainstream. He delivers a decent new project with producer BodyBagBen. Eto’s rhymes are his standard sinister style that we have grown accustomed to. He’s definitely dope, but on this go round, I don’t think you are really getting anything out of the ordinary. The beats on here are pretty standard as well. There are some dope drums and basslines that provide a good backdrop for Eto to do his thing on. All in all, this was a pretty standard release that is worth checking out.

ETO & SHARP – 360

Eto recruits the producer Sharp for this latest EP entitled 360. At only 5 songs, it definitely plays through very quickly. Nonetheless, it is still a pretty dope ride for what it is. The rhymes are dark and sinister just as Eto always is. The beats are strong and contain a lot of piano and vocal laced samples. Sharp definitely has a hold on what hip hop should sound like. I wouldn’t really say anything stands out too much on this recording, but at the same time, it is one you definitely want to check out. Fans of Eto will definitely not be disappointed as he has been on a tear recently with releases.

Eto comes right back at us with another joint that is low-key pretty slamming. He is great with the rhymes and says things in a sort of different way than most rappers out there. The thing about Eto that makes him great is that he is original. He is not a copy of anyone else out there. He’s building his own lane and it is great. The beats on here are perfect for him. They are more lowe key and eerie which is what he sounds best over. This is another quick and great look for Eto and we definitely always look forward to see what he does next.

Eto teams up with Mil Beats to give us a super dope new project. Although it is rather short it length, this project is a banger. Eto comes out of the mist like a nighttime street monster ready to rob you of your wallet and perhaps worse. His voice is so eerie and sinister and his bars are getting better and better with each project. The beats on here are very complementary also. They are eerie and have that head nod factor but also that scary, off-beat sound to them as well. This one is sure to wake you up and make you pay attention because Eto is doing big things.

2 grimy and dirty MCs team up for a great celebration of the street life. Eto and Flee Lord are about evenly matched on this project. As you listen through, you almost get the feeling that the goons are hiding in the shadows of the street at night and they are ready to pounce out and attack you. This is the lyrical equivalent to getting your purse snatched and having your face spit on. Both MCs have really strong flows and content. The beats on here definitely complement them as well as they are hard drums and good samples. Your neck will definitely get tired from bobbing on this one. For this album, don’t come out after dark because the wolves are lurking and they are hungry.

Eto teams up with the producer Superior for a really dope collaboration here with this one. Eto oozes his super spooky type flow and has actually improved his rhymes since previous projects. You can see the growth on this project. He almost sounds like a ghost that is haunting a graveyard and looking for unsuspecting travelers. With his new crack era flow, he sound dope over the production that Superior provides. The music almost eerily matches the vocal tones with it’s dark sounding samples. This record isn’t going to appeal to the masses, but at the same time, it shouldn’t. This is for a niche audience, but they did a good job on this record.

Eto & Superior - Long Story Short

DJ Muggs and Eto from Rochester, NY put out a project called Hell’s Roof and there’s basically two sides to this project. On the lyrical side, I didn’t really get too much out of it. I would say Eto is pretty average on the mic. He’s not bad, but there really isn’t too much to take away lyrically. His voice is decent and his flow works pretty well. I think he just needs to step it up a bit with the wordplay. Not a bad job though. The production side of this project is the part that shines more. DJ Muggs definitely keeps the beats dark, hard, and menacing. There are definitely some hard beats on here. Overall, I think this project was pretty middle of the road. Not a bad attempt at all, but definitely some room to grow. I’ll definitely be checking out more in the future.

This is a pretty decent mixtape all around. It is definitely a mashup of some individual talent and as a collective, you can see what the MCs and the producer offer together. Lyrically, you get a mishmash of rhymes. Willie has always been one of those dudes that just spits and it goes in any direction. That is what you get a lot of on this record, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Eto provides a darker and more sinister voice to the project and holds his own on the mic. It’s definitely not top tier lyricism but it’s not whack by any means. The production is a lil above average from V Don. I think he does a good job creating an eerie and dark backdrop for the MCs to rhyme over. The standout track is the first one “Gloria.” I think it’s a pretty decent project and seeing as how it is only 6 tracks, it is worth a quick checkout.
