Currensy drops a new project that has more of a traditional mixtape feel to it than previous releases. On this one, Currensy selects some classic bangers for beats and rhymes over them. You will definitely hear some of the best tracks over the last 20 years on here. Currensy delivers his normal laid back flow. At times, you might even hear him speed it up slightly for more up tempo beats. He has 2 features on here from Mac and Premo Ice. Overall, this one wasn’t too bad of a project. I think the beats selected are more of a highlight than the rhymes, but overall, not a bad job.

Currensy and Fuse team up again for another new album. This new project is pretty lengthy at 18 tracks with 1 extra on the deluxe version. it almost doesn’t even seem like it is that long because it plays through rather nicely. This is definitely one of Currensy’s better projects. His rhymes are strong but also delivered in his signature slow drawl that we have grown accustomed to. The beats on this project are very strong. Fuse did a great job with selecting some quality beats that Currensy sounds great over. This is that rich and opulent lifestyle rap that fans love hearing about. Great job by both parties on this project.

CURRENSY & ALCHEMIST – CONTINUANCE

Currensy teams up with the Alchemist for another venture into sound. This album definitely has more of a laid back and experimental vibe. Alchemist definitely has some different type sounding beats on here. You won’t hear anything like the Griselda sound or anything similar to that. This one is simplified and laid back. Currensy spits rhymes that are about what you would expect on here. He has some slick, rich lines all throughout which is what we appreciate from him. All in all, this is a decent record. Fans will appreciate it. I would have liked to hear more of a hyped up record, but we will take what we are given.

CURRENSY – PILOT TALK 4

Currensy has been on fire recently and drops another project just like we knew he would. This one is definitely pretty dope. He seems to have stepped everything up for this release. His bars seem to be more focused and his flow is fantastic. He still has that same slow New Orleans drawl, but is also flipping words effortlessly on this one. There are no features at all on this project. The beats are pretty good as well. Highlights include “Memory Lane” with its recognizable sample and “There It Is” with its super hard drums. Currensy seems to flourish when he is over harder drums with an interesting or laid back sample. This album was a great showcase of that and he definitely did his thing on this one.

Currensy drops a quick 5 piece on fans. This one is quick and dirty. There wasn’t a whole lot to it. In and out was the M.O. On the mic, Currensy is pretty predictable. He drops his usual bars in his usual style. The production is pretty standard as well. The highlight of this project is “Investment Strategy” featuring Cruz. On this one, the MCs rhyme over Celly Cel’s “It’s Going Down” beat and it sounds like it was made for Currensy. That was really a dope selection for him to rhyme over. Other than that, this is your standard Currensy project. Spitta keeps spitting.

Currensy and Harry Fraud join forces again to give us a dope new project. This one is definitely an elegant walk into the rich and lavish lifestyle. Currensy spits his slow flow bars and shows us what great opulence sounds like. Harry Fraud definitely provides a fantastic backdrop that matches Currensy’s flows. The production on this album is fantastic and sounds very elegant. It really does almost sound like the soundtrack to a boat race that would be held in Key West. This is the music that you would be listening to at that event. Even though the project is rather short at only 8 songs, it still is pretty slamming and Currensy and Harry Fraud should definitely be proud of this one.

CURRENSY – STILL STONED ON OCEAN

Currensy never stops working and drops off another new project that is pretty dope overall. On the mic, he is laid back, but as confident as ever. He is really spitting some boastful bars throughout this one. There are only 2 features from Jim Jones and Fendi P. The production is pretty good as well. These seem to be a better crop of beats on this go round. The highlight of this project is the majestic-sounding “Angels On The Hood.” It sounds like the trumpets are blaring as the newly crowned king walks down through amongst his subjects. Currensy definitely did a great job on this one and we look forward to more from him because we know he will always bring it.

Currensy teams up with producer Kino Beats to give us a smooth new project for fans. This one is pretty decent overall. This is that lane that we love to see Currensy in. His bars are decent and what we would expect from him. He has that Southern drawl and spitting that Jet Life opulence talk that we love to hear. He might not be the most technical rapper ever but at the same time, no one is expecting him to be. The beats on here are pretty decent. Kino Beats does a good job overall and we really can’t be mad at it at all. The highlight is “Under The Moon” featuring Blu with it’s smoothed out beat and great-sounding sung hook. All in all, this was a pretty good Currensy project and we always look forward to more of what he is cooking up.

Currensy teams up with producer Trauma Tone to give us a very quick new 10 track project. Most of the songs are very short at about 2 minutes or less so it plays through very quickly. Currensy sounds laid back and pretty good throughout this one. It is his standard slow Southern drawl with his delivery. There are no features at all on here. The beats on here are pretty laid back and airy as well. It sounds pretty standard for Currensy. This is about what we would expect overall. Not a bad project, but nothing that stands out also.

Most performances are pretty much what you would expect. There really isn’t anything that is too out of pocket as far as the bars go. The production on here is pretty standard as well. There really aren’t any classics on here, but there isn’t anything that is whack either. All in all, this is a pretty standard Currensy release and you definitely get what you expect on here.

Currensy and Alchemist team up again for a new project and to be honest, this is not one of their better ones. On the mic, Currensy seems a little lazy. You will get features from Prodigy, Fiend, Smoke DZA, and Freddie Gibbs. The beats are really nothing too special at all. You aren’t going to hear any mind-blowing production on this album. It almost sounds like it wasn’t fully mastered either. It sounds a little quieter as far as the recording goes. The best song is “Full Metal” as this one actually has a pretty dope beat. Probably a good way to salvage the end of the album. This almost sounds like some throwaway songs that didn’t make the cut for another album. It’s not terrible, it’s just that it isn’t quite up to the standard we are used to.

Currensy drops a new project that is pretty standard for him. On the mic, Currensy delivers his signature style with his slow Southern drawl while talking about luxuries. The odd thing is that on this go round, he seems to speed up his flow at times which is a lot different than normal. The beats on here might be a bit more up tempo than usual as well. He seems to have selected beats that complement each other on this one and seem pretty cohesive. All in all, this was another decent installment of the house that Currensy built.

Currensy releases a new project and recruits a lot of the members of his Jet Life Label to help him out. This is a pretty decent release overall. It’s a laid back, typical Currensy release and that is a good thing. On the mic, Currensy delivers his signature slow Southern drawl while telling us about his life of opulence and crew loyalty. You will see features from T.Y., Black Cobain, Fendi P, and more. The beats match the bars creating a laid back atmosphere. This is definitely a good project to kick back and smoke to. One of the standout songs would be “Just Came Home” featuring G Style, which has a nice West Coast beat to it and Currensy sounds great rhyming over it as well. All in all, not a bad job for Currensy and the Jet Life team.

This one is definitely some more heat for fans and they will definitely appreciate it if they like The Outrunners project. You definitely get what you expect from Currensy and this is definitely a dope release.

Currensy & Harry Fraud team up for another boat excursion on wax. This is a dope release and almost plays through like the soundtrack to offloading pounds of drugs onto speed boats in the gulf. Currensy has some slick lines throughout paired with his laid back flow. You get some decent features from Conway, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, and Rick Ross. Harry Fraud provides some pretty decent beats throughout here as well. If nothing else, this project definitely plays through consistently. Currensy teams up with producer Harry Fraud again for a really dope project. This one plays through like the drug runner’s soundtrack to dropping off bricks on a beach at night. Currensy gives his laid back, but also somehow energetic performance as far as his raps go. There is a bit more energy on here, but still maintains his signature style. Harry Fraud does an amazing job on the production side of things. There are some really good beats on here. This often times brings out the best in MCs. There are also some really fantastic performances from the features on here like Conway, Wiz Khalifa, Jim Jones, and especially Rick Ross. They all have great verses that they lend to the project. All in all, Currensy and Harry Fraud really did a great job with this project. This is a combination that is definitely working.

Currensy hits us with yet another very quick EP with only 5 tracks this time. This one has a bit of a more laid back vibe. He gives us the same ol Southern drawl that we love him for. You basically get what you expect on the lyrical side of this project. And that is not a bad thing. The beats are definitely a bit more laid back. There is no bounce on this one at all. This is something to vibe out and smoke to. A nice quick tape to smoke a blunt to right here.

Currensy teams up with Fendi P for a really dope collaboration album. Talk about 2 artists really complementing each other’s style. They say that when artists work together, it is like swords sharpening swords because it forces both artists to outdo the other and you get an overall better project. That was definitely the case here. Currensy gives us his normal slow-flow style which sounds great. Fendi P gives us a more amped up, energetic flow. The two just really go together well on here. The beats are pretty decent all around as well. The highlight on here is “Stainless.” It has a great hook and a great flow to it where both MCs really shine. This was a really dope project that will play hard in your stereo.

DJ Fresh teams up with Currensy to drop a super dope night time feeling type of album. This one is chock full of funky fresh beats that Currensy just seems to rock over. His normal laid back and lazy flow is sped up ever so slightly to show us a more energetic Currensy on the mic. The beats definitely have a different vibe to them and they actually all fit together pretty cohesively. While it is a relatively quick listen, I think both artists really put a concentrated approach towards this project. This is one that stands out amongst all of Currensy’s various projects and that is hard to do given all of the projects he has done over the years. You should definitely check this one out.

Smoke DZA and Currensy team up for a relatively dope project. The best way to describe this one is that it is something to bob your head to. There is definitely a vibe on here. As far as lyrically, I don’t think you are going to be getting any top tier rhyming on here, but at the same time, that is not what it is about. They both pretty much ride the vibe and provide a smooth vocal tone over the beats. The production side of things is pretty much the same thing. You will get standard beats to bop to. There’s no frills or extra filler on here. If you need something to smoke and ride to, this will probably be your project. It’s at least worth checking out.

The always working MC Currensy hits us with another project to close out the year. This one finds him a bit more laid back than usual. He has always had a slowed and laid back approach, but the overall vibe of this one just seems more chill. The weed must have been hitting extra hard in December. You still get rhymes littered with rich talk and smoke talk so seasoned Currensy fans will be satisfied. The beats on here are definitely more subtle as well. You aren’t going to get any boom bap or head snapping beats on here. The most hype that it gets is probably a feature from Juicy J. Other than that, light up, kick back, and enjoy a new Currensy project.

The rhymes are a bit boring throughout for all of the MCs. There’s nothing really rewind-worthy at all. The beats are pretty much the same thing. You are not really getting any classic material on here at all. I just found myself wishing it was over as I listened through it. Not quite sure what the point of this project was, but I don’t think the goal was achieved.
