PLANET ASIA & BODY BAG BEN – HEIST THE CROWN

Planet Asia teams up with producer Body Bag Ben to bring us another new project. This one definitely has an ominous feeling to it and can be very eerie at times. Nonetheless, it is a very focused project at the same time. On the mic, Planet Asia sounds great, just as he always does. It really is uncanny how he never runs out of dope rhymes. This is an unbeatable MC. He is spitting his Egyptian merchandise all over some dope beats. He gets some great features from Snoop Dogg, Tristate, Yah-Ra, and more. The production side of things is handled by Body Bag Ben and he does another fantastic job on the boards. His eerie style coupled with hard-hitting drums serves as a perfect backdrop for Planet Asia to do his thing. The highlight of this project is the neck-snapping “Heavy Metal.” As the title suggests, this one is definitely not to be taken lightly. All in all, the 2 two artists do a great job at constructing a strong album for hip hop fans.

RICK HYDE & BODYBAGBEN – HYDE THE BODY BAG

Griselda’s Rick Hyde teams up with producer BodyBagBen to give us a quick 5 track EP. This one is hard and gritty as nails. This one sounds like it is straight from the streets and serves as a soundtrack for mayhem. Rick Hyde is great on the mic and raw as ever. There are assists from GoToMar$, Mark 4ord, and Kali Problems. GoToMar$ definitely puts in work on the mic as well as I was previously unaware of this MC. The production on here is hard as nails. The super hard drums and eerie piano loops serve as a sonic backdrop to the streets. Although super short, you won’t be disappointed when you go through this one.

MILANO CONSTANTINE & BODY BAG BEN – WRITE IT IN BLOOD

Milano teams up with Body Bag Ben to release a solid new project for the real hip hop heads. On the mic, Milano has always been pretty dope working with DITC and solo projects. Body Bag Ben complements that style very well throughout this project by keeping a solid flow and rhymes. While the rhymes on here are decent, I do think they could have stepped up the rhyme game ever so slightly. That may just be nit-picking on my part. The beats on here are straight hard-body and are definitely reminiscent of that classic New York boom bap sound. Hip Hop purists will definitely revel in this one.

ETO & BODYBAGBEN – INTEGRITY

Eto has been on a tear this year cementing his name into the rap underground scene and breaking through to the mainstream. He delivers a decent new project with producer BodyBagBen. Eto’s rhymes are his standard sinister style that we have grown accustomed to. He’s definitely dope, but on this go round, I don’t think you are really getting anything out of the ordinary. The beats on here are pretty standard as well. There are some dope drums and basslines that provide a good backdrop for Eto to do his thing on. All in all, this was a pretty standard release that is worth checking out.
