Agallah releases a new project called ArtGawd Phoenix. The Brownsville native spits average, but hard and forceful bars overtop of some pretty average beats. There really isn’t too deep of content that you will find on here, but it’s not necessarily whack either. He gets some features from William Bostick, Cuzzo Sosay, Big Brother Biz, and Grea8Gawd. The beats on here are definitely mediocre. The song “Gloria From Astoria” has more of his cringe-worthy “singing.” That kind of stuff shouldn’t happen. You probably won’t find yourself playing the album back again too often, but it’s at least decent enough for a listen. All in all, this one is about on par for Agallah.

Agallah releases a brand new album that is pretty decent. As far as the rhymes, these are pretty on par for him. He spits hard and forceful rhymes so that competitors know he is not to mess with. There are features from Fashawn, Supreme Cerebral, Bub Styles, and even a vocal clip from the late, great Michael K. Williams. The production is okay. There is nothing really classic, but there is definitely nothing whack at all. Highlights include “The Fire” featuring Skip Lyve and “I Chose Violence” featuring Bub Styles. All artists involved definitely go hard on those tracks. Not a bad job here for Agallah.

Agallah drops off another new project and this one is pretty average for him. His bars aren’t really anything special here. He does bring a lot of energy to the mic which is always good, but there really aren’t a lot of deep or insightful lyrics or punchlines at all. The beats on here are pretty standard as well. There really wasn’t anything that stood out amongst the others. At only 7 tracks, it is a quick listen and goes pretty fast. Not his best work ever, but not really the worst either.

Agallah comes back with another album that is pretty average overall. His bars are about what you would expect. There are a lot of flexes with bravado and street views from the BK veteran. There really aren’t too many moments where you want to hit the rewind button to hear bars back, but they work for what it is. The worst tracks are the ones where he sings. Those are just God awful. He’s really gotta cut that out. You’ll want to skip over “Flexing Through Vineyards” and “Black Royalty.” You’ll get some features from EPMD, Vinnie Paz, Kool Keith, Layzie Bone, and more. The production on here is pretty standard as well. There weren’t really any standout tracks, but nothing was really whack either. It definitely takes a long time to get through the whole album clocking in at 24 tracks. That probably could have been shaved down substantially. All in all, this was a pretty middle of the road album from Agallah.

Agallah comes back with a brand new album and this one has more of a classic New York sound and feel to it. On the mic, Agallah does a decent job and is at least hitting for par. He spits bars about how New York has changed and times aren’t like they used to be. There aren’t many features at all but you get a dope verse from Eto. The production is pretty decent as well. The beats are pretty sufficient and get the job done. This was a decent offering from Agallah and definitely a step in the right direction.

Agallah drops a brand new project that is supposed to play through more like a story. Truthfully it gets a bit confusing as to what is happening in the story as you listen through. I don’t think the storyline was laid out very well. The bars that Agallah spits are pretty standard. There isn’t anything really rewind-worthy on here as far as the bars. The production is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some real bangers on here in which Agallah sounds great over. Two of the highlights are “Plain And Simple” featuring Tek Bully and “Made Me A Animal” featuring Terror Van Poo. Both of these songs definitely have great beats to them. Overall, this seemed like it was more of a story-telling concept album, but it didn’t quite go there.

AGALLAH – 2021

Agallah delivers an early album this new year with the aptly titled 2021. On this project, it’s almost as if the beats are a bit more laid back. It’s a tad more sinister than usual musically as if the beats were laying back in the cut waiting for the perfect time to strike. On the mic, Agallah sounds decent. His rhymes are aggressive and definitely aimed at haters and critics on this project. I can do without the sing-songy crap he does like on “Move To Miami.” That stuff is totally whack. I wouldn’t say this is his best project, but it does sound a bit better than a lot of his past work. This is a decent way to start off the year for Agallah.

Agallah comes back with the followup to his Darona album with the second installment. On the mic, it really sounds like Agallah stepped it up. His bars are definitely more focused and sound a lot tighter. He also employs some great features from the likes of Thirstin Howl III, Q-Unique, Sadat X, and more. The beats that are selected on here are pretty dope overall as well. It was good to hear beats like on “The Star Of The Story” and “Pres Elect Flow.” Both of these had great samples and really turned into some dope beats. Agallah definitely raised the bar on this one and it was really good to see. Hopefully this trend continues.

Agallah teams up with the legend Sadat X and these 2 actually deliver a pretty dope project. The part that really sticks out is the intensity on here. Both Agallah and Sadat X are making their points proven with how hard they are spitting. You can definitely feel the ferocity from both of them. I think they both benefitted from collaborating here. Usually when 2 MCs work together, they sort of sharpen swords because they are trying to outdo the other and I think that both of them benefitted from that here on this one. The production was a bit better this time around too. There are some pretty good beats on here that complement both of them. One of the only songs I could probably do without was “Can We Save Us” with it’s terribly sung hook. Other than that, this one was pretty decent from front to back. Definitely a good listen through.

Agallah releases another new project and this one is pretty bad. The rhymes aren’t too good pretty much from front to back. There wasn’t anything that I was hitting that rewind button for. Agallah definitely sounds older and more tired on this project for some reason. The production was nothing special either. Most tracks were pretty bad. The song “On My Line” was just absolutely terrible. With him singing the hook, it just makes it sound really bad. “Off Canal Street” is another example of that same situation. No one is putting these types of songs in their playlists. The one song where I do have to give credit for was “Off The Cliff.” The beat on that one went pretty hard. This was a pretty terrible project from the jump off. I’d skip this one all together. Let’s hope that the next one will be better.

Agallah comes back with another new project. This one is definitely more themed to a lot of the current events that are happening. Rappers have always been the street news reporters and that is what Agallah is doing here with this one. The bars on here are pretty standard. There’s not really any mind-bending bars or anything to rewind, but he’s at least hitting for par. The production on here is decent. There really wasn’t anything that I’d call classic, but the beats were good nonetheless. The best track on here is “Deep End Verse.” That one just has a slamming beat and Agallah rides the beat perfectly here. Songs that we could have done without are ones like “Nothing To Lose” with it’s poorly sung hook. It just doesn’t fit in very well with everything else. So all in all, this was a pretty average album.

Agallah has been very busy and comes right back at us with another project. This one is pretty decent overall. His bars are good throughout most songs. There wasn’t anything really above and beyond expectations, but not too bad overall. There was one feature that really surprised me. Billion Man Rebellion was really spitting hard on the track “Hood Tendencies.” The production was pretty average overall. There were some interesting samples that made for some good beats like on the track “Drenched In Chaundon.” Overall, this one was pretty average. A good middle of the road album for y’all to vibe out to.

Agallah - Aggravated

Agallah drops off another super quick album that is greatly inspired by this whole coronavirus pandemic. He has some really dope and creative joints on here like “Darona” and “The Cure.” These are definitely good topics and sound better than some of the other songs I have heard out there about this topic. He definitely did a good job with those. There were some songs that weren’t on the same level as the others. Then there was another dope song for Kobe called “For Kobe, For Gigi.” He pays tribute to the late basketball star and his daughter. The production on this album was pretty decent overall. I think they were hitting for par on here. Nothing really super classic, but nothing whack either. All in all, a good effort from Agallah and also very relevant to the situation right now.

Agallah - Darona

Agallah gives us another pretty standard album. As far as the rhymes, he is definitely spitting on a few tracks. “Pablo” and “Fuck You Mean” he was definitely popping off with the rhymes. You could tell he was going hard on those 2 tracks. As far as the production side, there is a more slow, somber tone to the album. This is definitely not that happy feeling type of record. If nothing else, it’s very cohesive as all of the tracks fit together pretty nicely. One of the main areas of concern was the hooks. Agallah doing some of the more “sung” type hooks just doesn’t sound right. There’s work that could be done, but not a bad effort overall.

Agallah - Fuck You The Album

Agallah drops off a brand new album that is pretty decent overall. I wouldn’t call it anywhere near a classic, but it’s worth a quick listen. His gritty voice coupled with his harsh rhymes sound menacing on this project. The production is pretty standard throughout. Again, there really isn’t anything that we would consider classic, but he does select some beats that tend to lean more towards that classic New York sound which always sounds good. I could have done without songs like “Rolling On Time” as that hook is just straight trash. The verses on there work pretty decently though. “Flawless” has an absolutely monstrous beat put together with a strong delivery of lyrics. “Van Buren’s Revenge” which features Action Figure is another dope beat with nicely laid bars over top. New York rap fans should take notice. Agallah has been doing it a long time and still continues to press onward.

Agallah the Don Bishop drops off a new project here with this album. There really isn’t a whole lot to be said about this one. Are the rhymes decent? Sure. Are the beats good? Yes, pretty much. I think he is really hitting for par here with this one. There isn’t anything classic on here, but it plays through. Hip hop fans will appreciate, but it probably won’t have much replay value.

Agallah - Live At Your Own Risk

The Don Bishop Agallah is back with another great album under a new pseudonym, Ag Al Ghul. On this one, he is a monster that is out to eat you rappers up for dinner. His rhymes are dope and his flow is unwavering. I wouldn’t quite put him on the top tier of MCs but he is definitely consistent on a decent level. The production on this album is dope all the way around. There are a lot of dark and sinister tracks to savor on here. “The Risk” and “A Slug For You,” which features Vinnie Paz, are 2 eerie yet slamming beats for the MCs to devour. The highlight for me was “The Wrong Turn” which has a fantastic soul sample over some dope high hat drums. All in all, this is a great attempt here and it really paid off for Agallah.

Agallah - No Mercy For The Weak

Agallah has been around a long time and still continues to put out pretty quality material. While this project was by no means classic, it was a decent listen. Agallah is not the most technical rapper ever, but he does get a lot of points for his voice and his intensity. I don’t think he is really saying anything rewind-worthy, but you will definitely be feeling his delivery. The beats on this album are pretty decent. He has a whole theme of some samurai, ancient Japanese monastery type sound and it comes off pretty well. One crazy thing to point out on this record is that there are 2 skits, one being 2 seconds and one being 3 seconds long, that I found to be almost pointless. A 2 second skit? What is the point? Is someone going to have that on repeat? It was just the shortest skits I have ever heard in my life. That little fact aside, this was a decent project. It’s definitely different than a lot of the garbage that floods the airwaves today.
