Lyrical assassin RJ Payne teams up with superb underground producer Stu Bangas to give us a cinematic trip through New York. On this project, RJ Payne gives us a day in a lot of the hot spots in each borough in New York City. You can almost see the scenes he is talking about as he describes his day in each. It really is no wonder how they came up with the title for this album. There aren’t any features on the project other than DJ DooWop narrating some of the movement between places. One interesting note about the lyrics on this project is that you won’t really hear any kind of blatant violence. There aren’t drugs being sold or people getting shot and murdered on here. RJ Payne keeps it much more simplified, while at the same time showing us what his week looked like. Stu Bangas does a great job on the beats as usual. He is a proven staple in the industry now and is really showing us that he can score a project well. All in all, this is a well-written project that tells a great story. Hip hop purists and general fans will both agree that this project deserves respect.
