Killa Kyleon drops a new album that has a lot of soul to it. If you took some of the best 70s and 80s classic R&B songs and sampled them into a dope album, you would end up with this one. It really is uncanny the sound of this entire project. It really takes you back to those times in life by hearing these tracks sampled and reimagined. On the mic, Killa Kyleon has a fantastic flow spitting that Texas slang as he has always done. He has a way of always pressing forward no matter what. Combine his rhymes with classic R&B/soul songs, and you have a great project on your hands. Songs like “RIP Nog,” “Blessing Me,” and “Mama’s Pain” all have dope samples that the old school R&B heads should be able to easily identify. The highlight is probably “It’s My Turn” which features Rich Andrews. It has a beautifully sung hook to it that makes it very melodic and catchy. All in all, if you are fan of classic R&B tracks from the 70s, 80s, and even dipping into the 90s a tad, this will be the album for you.
