First off, AZ is THE most underrated MC of all time. AZ has quietly performed at a top level since his introduction. He is one of the best to come from NY and really doesn’t get all the credit that he deserves. His rhymes have been great and continue to be great. If adult contemporary hip-hop is a genre, than this album is a fantastic representation of it. His debut album Doe Or Die, went on to become an instant classic, so it’s no surprise that the second installment would be just as good. AZ’s bars are expertly crafted and refined just like a perfectly aged wine. It really is uncanny how good of an MC he is. You get the features that you need from Rick Ross, Dave East, Conway, and Lil Wayne. You also get some great hooks provided by Jaheim and T-Pain. The production is fantastic from beginning to end. It’s not really boom bap, but rather a laid back, more adult style hip hop. It’s age appropriate. The highlight of this album is the perfectly-crafted “The Wheel” featuring Jaheim. Between AZ’s bars and Jaheim’s crooning on the hook, this song is a perfect representation of how good AZ is. I really hope that AZ continues blessing us for many more years to come. He still has it in him and he really isn’t celebrated enough as one of the greats.
