This was definitely a huge turn from the norm. Pharoahe Monch links up with a band called Th1rt3en to give us this brand new album. This one is full of things that you don’t normally hear. When undertaking a task like that, it can be a huge gamble as to how a project will be received. On the mic, Pharoahe Monch is impressive and versatile as ever. His bars and his flow are just fantastic. This is really the strong point of this album. The production was probably pretty decent, but was not meant for me. It is filled with heavy guitar rifts and more of a rock feel on most of the beats. That kind of style is okay every once in awhile, but I get sick of it quick. It got to be too much for me early on in the album. The best track is “Cult 45” with it’s masterful lyrics and dope beat. All in all, this was probably a decent album, but not something that I would keep in rotation.
