Jay Electronica releases yet another project this year. This one was an older album that he finally put out in its entirety. On the mic, Jay Electronica is purely magical. His skill level is so far above most MCs out there, it really is uncanny. While most rappers talk about the same old subjects like partying and flossing, he gets deeper in his thoughts and rhymes by leaps and bounds. As far as the production, this one is a bit of a mixed bag. There are definitely some bangers on here and then there is some stuff that is a little weird. Some of the production sounds almost experimental at times, but overall it comes off pretty decent. The highlight on here is “Road To Perdition” featuring the almighty Jay-Z. This one is a certified banger and the rhymes are out of this world. This is another dope look into the world of Jay Electronica. We hadn’t seen much of it over the last decade and now that we are getting a peek into his world, it’s a glorious thing.
