R-Mean teams up with Berner to release a new project. Traditionally, I haven’t really been a big fan of Berner. With this album, I think he tried a little bit harder though. Not a whole lot of effort, but there was some more than normal. He was still pretty boring on the mic for the most part. R-Mean is definitely one with great potential. I wanted to see more out of him on this project, but he still delivered some pretty solid rhymes. The beats bring the quality of this album up a bit as well. There are some real decent samples like on “Smoke Smoke” which Jedi Mind Tricks fans will recognize. On “Mafia,” fans of Nas and The Firm will recognize this sample. They even toss it way back with the nod to Peter Gabriel on “Lost.” All in all, this was a pretty decent album that might have been a little bit better than I thought it was going to be.
