Layzie Bone drops off a new album that is pretty robust in size. This one clocks in at 19 tracks. For the most part, it is pretty average. I always want to get that classic Bone sound and melodies on their solo albums, but they can’t seem to recapture that feeling. Maybe it is just wishful thinking or looking through rose-colored glasses. His rhymes aren’t anything top notch on here, but one thing that remains strongly in tact is the flow. He is able to flow, and at times pretty fast, just like back in the day. The beats on here are nothing to write home about, but at the same time, aren’t really whack either. They just are what they are. On a few tracks, I almost feel like they were trying to shoot for some radio singles. While I don’t think they quite got there with any of the songs, it was still appreciated. All in all, a pretty middle of the road record for Bones fans to digest.
