Crimeapple releases a quick project here at only 8 songs. They called it a “deep dive into the complex dynamics of the eternal paper chase.” He brings his normal dope flow to it mixing Spanglish and street talk. It always goes over well on the lyrical side of things. The production on here was a bit quiet and low tempo. I’m not saying it was bad at all. I just wanted to hear Crimeapple over some really hard drums and neck snapping beats because he shines brightly over those. This wasn’t it, unfortunately. On “Entenmann’s” he flips some Biggie lyrics throughout the verses and the hook. In all honesty, I’m not quite sure how I feel about that quite yet. It’s like on one hand, should he be biting Biggie like that? On the other hand, he does do a nice flip of some of the lyrics. It’s different. All in all, not a bad effort though from Crimeapple. We always look forward to his projects.
