Crimeapple teams up with legendary producer DJ Muggs to deliver some more manteca for fans. On paper, this sounded like it would be a classic project. In delivery, this was definitely a strong album. His bars are great throughout. There is definitely something about hearing him flip from English to Spanish or Spanglish that just sounds so fantastic. The beats on here were pretty decent. Overall, I think Muggs did a good job. They are very keys and sample heavy. I would have liked to have seen more drums and basslines. It seems like there aren’t too many tracks that are thumpers. The songs are definitely still hot though. The best tracks on this project are “Tiburones” and “Bloodtype.” Both of these tracks slap and Crimeapple definitely laces the bars on these. All in all, this was a good project, but I just hoped to hear more slappers on here.

OVERALL RATING: 4 out of 5 Cheesesteaks
