Action Bronson drops off a record that was a little disappointing. His bars are okay on here. I think he is at least shooting for par on that level, but I would have liked to have seen him go a little harder on the mic. He has those colorful and descriptive wild scenes that he seems to rhyme about, but it just didn’t really push the envelope for me. The lyrics were good, just not great. The beats on here were really a lower point overall. A lot of the beats feature guitars which is overkill after a certain point. There are way too many tracks that feature that. What it needed was some more tracks like the first 2 Blue Chips mixtapes. It would be nice to see Action Bronson team back up with Party Supplies to make another incredible record. Sure, it might sound like they are trying to reinvent the wheel, but when you strike gold, you keep digging for it. The highlight is “Swerve On Em” which features ASAP Rocky. This one is definitely the best beat on the project. So overall, this record doesn’t really have that much boom-bap feel to it like previous Bronson records. It’s at least listenable though.
