Philly Freezer drops off a fantastic new album. This was the perfect time for this brother to come back. First up, many prayers up for him with the kidney situations. I definitely empathize with this as I have experienced kidney issues as well. I wish all the prayers in the world for him and his situation. With this album, Freeway is back on The ROC where he started out so out the gate, that feels better. He still does his thing on the mic, but it does sound a little more reserved than he has in past years. This is understandably so though. He definitely still knows how to structure great songs though. The beats on here are very good. There are some great features from Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Faith Evans, and even Lil Wayne. I could have done without the feature from Lil Uzi Vert. The song that he is on “Swag On The Mayo” fell flat along with “All The Way Live.” Those 2 songs could have stayed off of here for me. The highlight of the album is probably “Life On The Line” which is almost a follow-up version of Common’s “I Used To Love H.E.R.” Freeway pens a letter to rap music and makes it sound like it is to a female and explains how he wishes she would be like she used to be and not this newer version of herself. I definitely have to give honorable mentions to “Cocaine White” and “About You” as well. These are 2 more really dope songs. Overall, I think Freeway did a fantastic job here and I look forward to him continuing his career for a very long time to come.
