Another surprise release this month from a group that I didn’t know was still active in the rap game, Group Home. This album was overall pretty decent. The beats were pretty good. I wouldn’t say it was the best production I have ever heard, but it was pretty good. It’s a lot of New York sounding beats which is good in my opinion. They rhymes are probably where this album is lacking. The duo are definitely not the best lyricists ever, and while they do give a clear and accurate view of street life, I think that the lyrics can be a bit flat sometimes. I definitely do respect them since the are core members of the Gangstarr foundation. This is a pretty basic rap release with more of a New York inspired sound. I’d say check it out if you are a fan of either Group Home or Gangstarr.
