I have never considered myself a Rick Ross fan at all. Over the years he has gained in strength and market imprint so I have been exposed to more and more of his music. Nowadays, I almost find myself checking for his music more often than not. I saw that he was coming out with a new album and I decided to give it a chance. I had heard most of the older stuff and I have to say that this new album is probably his best one yet. Never before have I said this, but I actually really enjoyed this album. The rhymes on it are pretty good. Ross has a good and concise flow that is backed up by the strength in his voice. The production on this one is just phenomenal. MMG has managed to get some of the hardest beats out there in the game today and it truly shows here on this release. The standout track has to be “Apple Of My Eye” featuring Raphael Saadiq. This track is classic with it’s smoothed out beat and superb rhymes. Ross also has some choice words for Birdman on the track “Idols Become Rivals.” I think all in all, this is a very powerful and landmark release for Rick Ross. I almost hate to say it but, this makes me more of a fan. I say it begrudgingly but I gave this album more than a few listens.
