This almost pains me to make this review because I really do like AR-AB. This dude is a very talented Philly spitter but this album is just simply not worth the time. AR-AB is definitely capable of being a hardcore street rapper and his lyrics are “realer” in every sense of the word than most rappers. He just seems to have a way of telling us about the whole drug selling culture in a way that hasn’t been done before. It is with a lot more clarity. He almost is able to put you the listener right next to him as he goes about his daily activities. This album is not a good offering of these talents though. I feel as if he is trying to use that whole “new style” of rapping which has seemed to permeate the game in the last few years. Instead of trying to fit in with the “popular” styles of today, AR-AB should just stick with what he does best. He certainly brought the fire when he and Cassidy freestyled on the Come Up Show with DJ Cosmic Kev. He may not quite be ready for the format of a whole album. He definitely sounds fantastic on a freestyle or maybe a feature. It just simply doesn’t translate when heard over the course of a whole album. I hope the next project is better because I know this dude can do it.
